Are you a high school student with a goal and dream of furthering your emotional education? If yes, then we invite you to participate in our exciting essay-writing contest designed to identify and reward outstanding young talents like you!
What We Offer:
- Scholarship Awards: The top essays will earn their writer free admission to our exclusive summer camp, focused on fostering emotional healthiness and integrity-based decision making.
Who Can Apply:
- Open to all students, ages 12- 17
- Applicants must be willing and able to attend the 2024 MTS Summer Camp in Southern California, Wrightwood.
How to Apply:
- Write an essay on the topic provided below.
- Submit your essay through our online application portal
- Ensure your essay meets all specified guidelines and requirements as outlined below.
Essay Prompt: “Navigating Emotions: Share a Personal Journey”
Essay Topic: We want to know about a time when you had to make a hard decision or you had to deal with challenging feelings to make a difficult decision.
Whether you felt you made the right decision or the wrong decision, we want you to share how this experience helped to shape your understanding of your emotions and what integrity is.
What lesson did you learn? What commitment did it drive you to make? And how has it shaped you as a person?
Essay Requirements:
- Length: Your essay should be between 750 and 1,000 words.
- Originality: Your submission must be your own original work and not previously published elsewhere.
- Formatting: Submit your essay in PDF format
Judging Criteria:
- Creativity and Originality: How unique is your perspective on the topic?
- Depth of Analysis: How well do you explore and discuss the theme?
- Clarity and Effectiveness of Writing: How clearly and persuasively do you present your ideas?
- Grammar and Style: How well is your essay written regarding grammar, punctuation, and overall readability?
- Winners will be picked by July 20th.
Awards:
- Top Five Essays: Each winner receives a free ticket to our summer camp focused on emotional healthiness and integrity based decision making.
- Additional honorable mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the judging panel.
