This policy explains how Motivating the Teen Spirit (“MTS”, “we”, “us”) handles information on motivatingtheteenspirit.com, in our programs, and in the tools we use to publish to our own social media accounts. Motivating the Teen Spirit is supported by Empowering The Human Spirit, a 501(c)(3).
What we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email, phone, organization and message when you fill out a form, register for a program, or contact us.
- Donations: when you give, the payment service you use (such as PayPal or Square) processes your payment. We receive your name, email, gift amount and date so we can thank you and send a receipt. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
- Email updates: if you sign up for news from MTS, we keep your name, email, the date you signed up and where you signed up.
- Photo and video consent: when a participant (and a parent or guardian for anyone under 18) agrees to appear in MTS photos or videos, we keep a record of that consent.
- Website data: basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited, through standard analytics and cookies.
- Social media data: our internal publishing tool connects only to social media accounts owned by MTS and its team. It reads public comments, messages sent to our accounts, and performance numbers so we can respond and improve. It does not collect data from accounts we do not own.
How we use it
- To run programs, answer questions, and send updates you asked for.
- To thank donors, issue receipts and keep the records a nonprofit is required to keep.
- To publish content to our own social media accounts and reply to people who engage with us.
- To understand what content is helpful so we can do better.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent or trade your information, including donor information.
- We never add you to our email updates unless you ask to be added.
- We never post a participant’s photo or video without recorded consent, and we remove it when consent is withdrawn.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us run MTS (for example, form, payment, email, and hosting services), when the law requires it, or with your permission.
Your choices
Every email update includes a link to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to see, correct, or delete your information, or withdraw photo and video consent, at any time by emailing jelani@motivatingthemasses.com.
Children
Our programs serve teens. We collect information from anyone under 13 only with a parent or guardian’s permission, and we ask a parent or guardian to consent before featuring anyone under 18 in our content. We do not add anyone under 18 to our email updates.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date at the top when we do. See also our Terms of Use.
